Maths Society Roles
Officers will be removed from their position if their briefs are not fulfilled.
Chair
The chair of the society is the main point of contact between students in the society and members of staff involved.
They will be responsible for:
Secretary
The Secretary will take primary responsibility for finding and inviting speakers to Thursday talks, and filming the talk. They will give the vote of thanks at the end and host the lunch.
Publicity (Senior Societies and Website)
The Publicity Officer (Senior Societies and Website) will produce the biography and talk summary for tutor groups, and produce the poster for the senior societies noticeboard.
Publicity (Noticeboards)
The Publicity Officer (Noticeboards) will rotate the display on the large noticeboard outside 214, and also one of the noticeboards outside the maths office, every term. They will be responsible for ensuring that materials are prepared over the holidays before the start of term, and the display put up right at the beginning.
Factorial
The Factorial editor will ensure that an issue of Factorial is produced by the final fortnight of every term.
Website editor
The website editor will ensure that Factorial is uploaded onto the Maths Society page of the website, alongside other information and events.They will work with the member of the maths department in charge of the website to develop further initiatives on nlcsmaths.com.
Supermentoring & Tutoring
This officer will oversee the supermentoring and tutoring pairs, ensuring that things are running smoothly.
Maths Clinic
The officer will run a weekly Maths Clinic at the Maths tables for students who need it.
Special Events Officer
This officer will run training sessions in advance of the Senior, Intermediate, and Junior Mathematics Challenges, as well as the Christmas Maths-Off, and other events as they occur.
Other
Other roles may be assigned as the need arises.

- chairing fortnightly meetings of the society,
- writing the society's action plan and reporting on its execution,
- introducing speakers at Thursday talks,
- helping all members of the society with their responsibilities where necessary,
- organising the NLCS/Harrow symposium.
