NLCS took two teams of four girls to the annual Maths Feast in Hemel Hempstead, where they would spend half a day competing against other schools for fame, power, and most of all the ability to proceed to the next round for even more fame. There would be a series of rounds, consisting of a range of different mathematical questions, which involved working in teams of four in order to produce the solution. Questions this year included Countdown-style questions, Self-study, and True/False.
Although we were very scared about how competitive and how difficult the questions would be (which they were), we found the whole event enjoyable and challenging as a new experience. All of us found that it was fun in how broadly-ranged and strange the questions were, and we would recommend it to anyone who would like to expand on their horizons and receive free refreshments and biscuits.
